NOPIGIA KISSAMOS
The ideal place to explore nature
The seaside village of Nopigia, which is 6 km east of Kissamos and 30 km west of the city of Chania, has a shallow, sandy beach and everything visitors need in the way of tourist infrastructure.
Nopigia Beach stretches west to Kissamos and is an ideal choice for those looking for a holiday in a beautiful and tranquil setting. If you walk east along the beach in Nopigia, you will find that the coastline becomes rockier, with pebbles, and is much quieter.
Following the road to Koleni in the south, a short distance from the beach in Nopigia, you will come across the ruins of ancient Methymna which are surrounded by olive groves. It is also not far at all to the church of Agios Panteleimon which is built in a cruciform shape with a cylindrical dome and rectangular shaped floor, and the church of Agios Georgios.
The Rizospilios cave is 200 meters from the main road in the village, very close to Nopigia beach. An underground river runs through the cave.
And after you have explored the beauty of nature around Nopigia and enjoyed swimming in the calm, beautiful sandy village beach, it is the perfect time to take a rest and enjoy the local delicacies and the unique view at the "Porfyra" taverna.
